RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide culturally sensitive interventions and screenings, mainly in the home setting, with families enrolled in the Parents as Teachers model, targeting pregnant women, infants, and children to 5 years
- Utilizing established curriculum, maintain and organizing learning materials ensuring age and developmentally appropriate resources are provided for intervention and enrichment opportunities for home visits that meet the needs of the family.
- Administer and score various assessments of children and families
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of client interactions and compile data for reports
- Provide information on additional service and resources and help assist families with transition to services
- Organize group connection and direct group education sessions with the goal of connecting families to community resources and support.
- May participate in community outreach events and reach out to local business and organization promoting the PAT program and services offered to the community.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement including training, improvement meetings, and self-guided professional development.
- To maximize public health’s impact in the communities we serve and fulfill the agency’s mission, each employee will actively promote the services provided by the Health District
- Adhere to the EIPH Employee Handbook and Values Statement
- EMERGENCY RESPONSE ROLE– Employees of Eastern Idaho Public Health have an “Emergency Response Role” and may be requested to respond to threats of a public health emergency in accordance with the District’s Public Health Preparedness Plan. This may include requirements to work longer shifts, nights, or weekends, and to perform duties different than your daily routine. Employees will not be asked, expected, or allowed to perform duties for which they are not trained or qualified.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the following closely related fields: family and human development, special education, elementary education, speech-language pathology, early childhood education, physical therapy, psychology, social work, nursing, or closely related field
OR
Associates degree in one of the previously described closely related fields and agreement and reasonable ability to complete a minimum of 24 credits with content in required ECSE standards with three years.
- Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license
- Must pass a background check prior to employment
PREFER
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths
- Strong organizational record keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Computer skills

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
To conduct nutritional care and education programs for WIC clients; perform related work.
Example of Duties
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition-education programs that meet standards for compliance with federal, state and district requirements
- Perform nutrition assessments, which includes anthropometric and hematological components
- Provide counseling and education on nutrition, breastfeeding, and other health-related issues to participants utilizing motivational interviewing techniques
- Develop individual care plans for participants
- Make and follow up on appropriate referrals verbally, and in writing
- Issue and explain food benefits
- Prepare and update educational material for both WIC staff and participants
Minimum Qualifications
Certification as a Registered Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association
Eligibility for licensure in the State of Idaho as a Dietitian accordance with Idaho Code, Section 54-3506.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- To research emerging and best practices in programs and program initiatives; research, develop, and recommend policies, strategies, legislation, grant applications; coordinate program development and implementation; perform related work.
Example of Duties
- Monitor and analyze trends, emerging program opportunities, best practices, proposed federal and state legislation, regulations, and guidelines to identify opportunities for program reforms or enhancements.
- Assess cost-effectiveness and public policy impacts and recommend potential program reform or enhancements. Assessment may include program structure, methods of financing, implementation, and service delivery implications.
- Develop or oversee the development of policies, strategies, legislation, funding requests, and procedures for new program initiatives.
- Prepare summaries and analyses, issue papers and reports to communicate research findings and the status of program development.
- Promote responsible government through tracking and reporting health data and metrics collected for EIPH to community and stakeholders.
- Analyze and cultivate program data to identify trends, measure effectiveness, monitor, and recommend program changes; develop alternative approaches to service delivery and financing, initiate and monitor promulgation and implementation of data structure.
- In coordination with the Director, division administration, program managers, and others, coordinate and consult on strategic planning and program development to formulate long-range objectives, short-term operational goals, and implementation plans.
- Assist program coordinators to identify, gather, analyze, and interpret data from a variety of local, state, and national sources. Assures data integrity. Develop data sources, including regional and county datasets that utilize population-based data. Inspire continuous program quality improvement using evidence-based approach and program data to suggest and track improvements.
