Eastern Idaho Public Health, Idaho Public Television and Bonneville Youth Development Council Team up for Nic Sick Documentary Premier and Panel Discussion to Be Held at Idaho Falls Center for the Performing Arts on March 28, 2023

What: The Nic Sick documentary is a part of the larger KNOW Vape campaign, a statewide effort designed to raise the alarm about the dangers of youth vaping in Idaho. The Nic Sick documentary dives into the consequences of the highly addictive habit of vaping. This event will be the first in-person premier of the documentary and will be followed by a live panel discussion.

Some additional partners involved in this event include: Madison, West Jefferson, and Ririe School Districts, District 91 and 93, Sugar Salem Schools, Madison Health, Catch My Breath, Idaho Falls Police Department, Idaho State Police, Bonneville County Sheriff, and Community Youth in Action.

Who: While the Nic Sick campaign is directed to children and teens, the community is encouraged to attend and participate. The panel discussion will include the Respiratory Director of Minidoka Memorial Hospital, a health educator, a local School Resource Officer, a family who is featured in the documentary, and a high school senior who completed a senior project on vaping.
When: The event will take place on Tuesday, March 28th. Doors will open at 6:00pm and the event will begin at 7:00pm.

Why: Idaho’s youth vaping rates have skyrocketed in recent years. Vaping is highly addictive and      dangerous to developing brains, bones, and lungs. In Idaho, one in five kids has vaped. This campaign aims to educate children and their communities of the dangers and consequences of vaping, and how to find resources to help.
How: No registration is needed.
