Idaho Falls, ID – Eastern Idaho Public Health is proud to announce the purchase and transfer of a Drug Incinerator to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, strengthening the ability for Eastern Idaho Law Enforcement to safely and securely dispose of prescription and illicit drugs. The incinerator provides a secure, efficient, and environmentally responsible method for the destruction of prescription and illegal drugs.

Eastern Idaho Public Health has partnered with local law enforcement on safe drug disposal initiatives including National Drug Take Back Day since 2019. The purchase and transfer of the drug incinerator will support ongoing prevention efforts by expanding local law enforcement’s capacity to safely dispose of unused and expired prescriptions collected at drug take back events.

The incinerator will support safe drug disposal within all eight counties of Eastern Idaho Public Health’s service area: Bonneville, Clark, Custer, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison, and Teton.

The incinerator will be housed and operated by Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement agencies interested in utilizing the incinerator can reach out to Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office through the office of Lt. Zeb Graham.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to prevention efforts, public safety, and community well-being.
