Epidemiology & Communicable Disease

To protect the health of our communities and prevent the spread of infectious diseases, epidemiologists and disease investigators at Eastern Idaho Public Health investigate cases of reportable diseases and other unusual occurrences of disease in our communities. When a reportable disease is identified in our health district, our epidemiologists work to identify anyone who may have been in close contact with the infected person and provides them with education and vaccination or medication if needed to stop the spread of the disease.
