EIPH & GIFT Join Together to Offer Free Transportation to Recovery Services through the Rides to Recovery Program
Monday June 9, 2025Idaho Falls, ID – Eastern Idaho Public Health (EIPH) is excited to announce a new partnership with Greater Idaho Falls Transit (GIFT) to provide transportation to treatment and recovery programs within Idaho Falls titled Rides to Recovery.
Transportation plays a crucial role in substance misuse treatment and recovery program participation. Reliable transportation influences an individual’s ability to attend recovery meetings, treatment sessions, and other important parts of their recovery process.
Eastern Idaho Public Health has partnered with Greater Idaho Falls Transit (GIFT) to designate Idaho opioid settlement funds in order to provide transportation to and from treatment and recovery programs/services for persons with an Opioid Use Disorder and other co-occurring substance use disorders/mental health conditions.
Rides to Recovery is a one-year pilot project (scheduled to run from present day until June 30th of 2026) to support people in treatment and recovery by addressing the need for transportation. GIFT On-Demand provides point-to-point rides within the City of Idaho Falls limits. The Rides to Recovery program provides free rides to and from the following locations:
- Behavioral Health Crisis Center – 1650 N Holmes Ave, Idaho Falls ID, 83401
- Brick House Recovery – 1020 Landbank St., Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83402
- Center for Hope – 530 E. Anderson Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83402
- District 7 Treatment – 254 E. Street Suite B, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83402
- Full Spectrum Psychology – 675 E. Anderson St., Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83401
- Ideal Option – 380 N. Capital Avenue Suite 1, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402
- Stewards of Recovery – 685 1st Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83401
Transportation to and from Eastern Idaho Public Health – 1250 Hollipark Dr, Idaho Falls, ID, 83401– will also be offered free to community members seeking public health services during the program.

Individuals who participate in the Rides to Recovery program are encouraged to download the GIFT On-Demand app to schedule rides to services. During this pilot project, Eastern Idaho Public Health will be working closely with GIFT to identify the needs and usage of the program with the hopes that the pilot program is appropriately and effectively utilized. At this time there is no guarantee that the project will continue past June 30, 2026.
